I collage detritus from our daily activities into animated abstract landscapes. Informed by Schwitters, the Constructivists and Rotella, I’m interested in how the ephemera from our consumptive activities make up our identities.
As our daily activities interact in a more digital realm by the minute, (e-mails, text messages, online shopping, etc), I believe one day we’ll regard the physical ephemera of our time with a nostalgia similar to what we now have for handwritten letters. In collaging the artifacts that pass through our hands on a day-to-day immediacy I give a visceral account of our modern consumption while also making work that act as personal recycling centers of our memories.
