Painterly abstract paintings using landscape as a frame of reference.
The experience of landscape is used in my work as a place of entry into the abstract world of a painting. My process is through collaboration with the material of paint-- I pour, stain, build, scrape, and draw the paint with brushes and trowells.
Each painting contains a visual-rhythmic measurement of the hand and body, creating a scale and internal logic to the painting's world.
Each painting is a place, holding the memory of it's creation.
