About my paintings Translucent pours are my departure point for spaces that compress multiple applications within layers of color. Each gesture becomes a contingency for another so painting unfolds as I go, like taking a trip. The resulting landscape offers an undulating space for wandering, placing you as the figure in a Yuan Dynasty scroll. By merging Dr. Seuss, Huang Gongwang and the outré techniques of French informel painters my paintings embrace colliding realities simultaneously.
