Science continues to reveal the ways in which patterns define us; DNA, stem cells, natural selection, bad habits.
Personal interest in these patterns has inspired me to catalog the wing and body patterns of butterflies in my work on paper. I work from observation, using a magnifying glass, and fragment my work as a visual metaphor for our need to break down and consume information in small bites.
With this work, I hope to veer toward the intricate and sometimes eerie patterns of biology in my homage to them.
