In 1997 I began a photographic archive entitled "Evans Pond: A Long-Term Study of a Single Place." On monthly shoots, I bring a variety of cameras and films to this forest at the edge of suburbia, a post- agrarian green space in Camden County, New Jersey.
The archive is my own dreamscape, a pastoral - conceptual romance with the woods. It is also a study of changing photographic tastes and technologies - from early 20th century box cameras to digital imagery.
