I work in a variety of media including oil-painting, needlepoint, jewellery, plaster, porcelain, and computer assisted 2D installations. Each media necessitates a specific set of approaches to the making physical of an image or pattern. The way these constraints function socially and economically interests me. I tend to work in ways in which my labour creates tangible value through evidence of its accumulation. The constraints of the processes chosen inform the disposition of the work
The subject matter I work with tends to be iconological and thus carries cultural value. I am interested in the way in which meaning infuses our lives through objects and images, which to some extent determines how we function in the world. My ambition is for the work to intersect with and thus expose these habits.
